Corrupted / Enemy Soil - Split 7"

Split between Corrupted and Enemy Soil released in 1997 by H.G.Fact Records.

The Victims Reissues

The Victims were one of the first punk bands to come out of Perth, Western Australia. They released two 7"s in very limited quantities and both of them sell for hundreds of dollars now. Although these releases have been bootlegged over the years, this is the first time they've had an official repress, courtesy of 1977 Records in Japan. They're limited to 500 copies each with 100 on clear vinyl for mail order only. It wasn't cheap buying these from Japan but I'm very happy to add these to the collection.

The Victims - Television Addict 7"

The Victims - No Thanks To The Human Turd 7"

The Jesus And Mary Chain - Darklands

The Jesus And Mary Chain's second album originally released in 1987 has just been reissued on 180 gram vinyl by Plain Recordings. I'm all for 180 gram reissues like this as they sound so much better than a scratched up original and it makes classic albums like this a bit more affordable to own. This is probably as indie as my record collection gets but I really love this band. They dropped a lot of the noise and feedback from their first album Psychocandy and replaced their drummer with a drum machine. It's poppy but still gloomy enough for my liking.

Sleep - Dopesmoker

The final recording from Sleep,  released how it should have been in the first place. Apparently the band spent most of the recording budget on weed and amps then went and recorded this one epic stoner/doom masterpiece about an hour in length. Record company suits were not happy and refused to release it. Gatefold double LP on Tee Pee Records.

Sunn O)) - Black One

This is my favorite Sunn O)) album and I've been trying to get a vinyl copy for a long time but always got outbid on ebay or it just ended up selling for more than I could afford at the time. Finally won one of the bastards and scored it for a decent price too. Released in 2005 by Southern Lord, black grey swirl vinyl limited to 1000.

Walls - Tour 7"

Limited 7" made for Walls current tour but I was lucky enough to get my hands on one. Double sided single sheet sleeve with blank labels on black vinyl. It's got 2 new songs on it, "Stare At The Walls" and "Healthy Communication" plus a Die Kruezen cover. Fucking love this band, it's good to hear some new stuff but it just leaves me craving more.

Corrupted - Se Hace Por Los Suenos Asesinos

2004 LP from Corrupted on HG Fact Records limited to 1000 copies. The A-side is a long acoustic track that's quite calm and relaxing but when you flip over to the B-side you get assaulted with the crushing doom they're known for. Very happy to have this one in the collection. Doom just sounds better on vinyl.

Grief - And Man Will Become The Hunted

Grief were from Boston and made heavy depressing doom like no others. Shame they're not around anymore. This was originally released in 2000 but only recently did it get a vinyl release thanks to Throne Records. It's got an evil goat on the cover and it's limited to 666 copies, now that's metal! I'm looking forward to more Grief reissues from Throne Records in the future. They did a great job on this. Double 180 gram vinyl with gatefold sleeve. They're like a Spanish Southern Lord.

Nerveskade - Insanity / Forced To Live 7"

I'd never heard Nerveskade before but Iron Lung Records don't make shit records so I thought I'd give it a spin. 2 songs of fast noisy punk and it comes in a hand stamped brown paper bag. One time pressing of 800 numbered copies all on orange vinyl.

Fall Of Efrafa - Inle 12"

This is the last Fall Of Efrafa album co-released by Halo Of Flies and a whole heap of other labels. Black vinyl was limited to 1400. Really great epic post hardcore / crust / doom. Final part of a trilogy so I'm going to have to track down the other releases. Just missed out on the box set and everything is out of print. ebay here I come.

My photos don't really do this justice. The packaging is a nice matt card gatefold sleeve.

Thou

Completely obsessed with this band at the moment, one of the best modern sludge/doom bands around. I picked up their new 12" EP and grabbed some of their other releases too. They already have a massive discography for a band that's only been around a few years. If you haven't already done so, go to their website and download some of these records. They have them all for free, just scroll down to the discography and click on any of the titles to download. If you want to buy the vinyl, these are still available too but don't snooze.

Thou - Baton Rouge, You Have Much To Answer For 12"
Released by Robotic Empire. Limited to 200 on Clear and 800 on Red. Amazing doomed out cover of Nirvana's "Sifting" on the B-side and they made the label look like the Bleach label too.

Thou - Peasant 12"
Second LP released by Level Plane in 2008, all on black vinyl.

Thou / Leech - We Pass Like Night, From Land To Land 12"
Split EP with black metal band Leech. This is the European press from Vendetta Records limited to 500 on white vinyl with different cover art to the US press.

Corrupted / Machetazo Split 7"

Split release between Japan's Corrupted and Spain's Machetazo that was released in 2000 by Frigidity Discos. I'm trying my best to get a complete Corrupted collection but they're not the easiest records to get a hold of, mainly because they don't get distributed much outside of Japan and most stuff is out of print.

Bitch - Be My Slave 12"

I found this at a 2nd hand record fair and thought the cover art was so good I just had to buy it. Bitch were a 80s female fronted heavy metal band with a thing for bondage gear. They were actually the first band to be signed to Metal Blade Records. That logo is badass!
