The Sisters Of Mercy

Hey people I'm back. All moved in to my new place and finally have the net back up and running. I haven't bought any new records in weeks but still had heaps of stuff coming in from pre-orders and what not, so I have a bit of a backlog to get through. Thought I'd start with these Sisters Of Mercy records I picked up recently. The past few weeks have been pretty terrible for me and I tend to listen to gloomy stuff when I get down. Goth music is probably the most depressing of all and these guys are one of the best in the genre. These are their first two albums, both are original German pressings. I've wanted these on vinyl for a long time and they will always bring back some great memories for me whenever I give them a spin.

The Sisters actually opened for Black Flag back in 1984, Henry Rollins mentions it briefly in his book "Get In The Van", he said the audience were trying to beat the shit out of them. I would love to see footage of that gig. They didn't seem to learn their lesson from that show as they later booked a double headline tour through the US with Public Enemy in the early 90s, which got cancelled half way through due to fears of violence.
